This is a beautiful example of how to transform used materials into something fresh and new, courtesy of our amazing volunteer, Alex! Alex used old flooring to make this incredibly sturdy and versatile box, or Necker cube. We love its rustic character and history: this flooring came from 109 River Street, which was originally a medical fraternity and then used as painting studios. We think the cube looks awesome on its own, but it could also serve a functional purpose as a table, storage container, etc.
Alex's work is currently on display at the Salvage Barn. We look forward to seeing more of his creations!
If you've made anything from salvaged materials, send us a photo of your project and we'll put it up on the website!
